What makes your ski tours different from the rest?
It is all about the personal touch. Dan the Ski Man, president of Morningstar, and his wife Lynn have been running tours for 25 years now. We do this because we love to ski and travel with our friends, old and new. We do this because we have a passion for it.
EVERY ski tour we offer Skiman goes on, and Lynn goes on many as well. Skiman has a crazy passion for great skiing and will only do tours to where he wants to ski. We don’t do this just to make a profit. We do it primarily to go and ski and enjoy the mountains and our Morningstar family. Anyone can book a ski tour. But to create one and go on it with the guests and to have more fun than they do: that is special. That is Morningstar.

Where do you offer tours to?
This changes yearly, but as a rule, we offer a bunch of U.S. and Canada Rockies tours to various excellent resorts, as well as one 2 week European Alps adventure per winter. In the summer, we offer mountain biking and rafting trips, and one summer ski adventure to either South America or New Zealand.

Why should I consider skiing in Europe? There is great skiing in America!
We agree. There is great skiing in America and we love it and do many tours here. But after having been to Europe 30 times in the past 15 years and after having spent 30 weeks skiing in every country touched by the Alps, we have fallen in love with European skiing. It is not better or worse than U.S. skiing. It is different. The food and ambiance of the ski villages is amazing. There is nothing like it in America.
The resorts are much bigger in the Alps, with some reaching over 8,000 vertical feet. The miles of trails in many of the Euro resorts dwarf American resorts. The main thing Skiman likes best about Europe is the off trail, backcountry , guided skiing. It is simply unsurpassed. Huge skiing, glaciers, skiing from village to village, massive fields of untracked powder…. Suffice it to say that a huge percentage of Skiman’s best ski days have been spent in the Alps. If you are an expert, the backcountry will blow your mind. If you are an intermediate or beginner, the trail system and lifts will stun you. We have taken over 3,000 people to ski the Alps. Many return with us every year. Everyone always has a great experience… and so will you!
Do I need a passport to travel Europe?
Yes, you get it at your local cityhall.
What is the demographics of your groups?
We offer trips that fit any age group. Our overseas trips consist primarily of folks in their 30’s up to those in their 60’s. We have about a 60/40 split of singles/couples. The one common denominator: everyone who comes along with us is wonderful! Honestly, we have had very few, shall we say, difficult people on our tours, and the few challenged folks are not invited back. You can be confident you will be with warm, friendly, helpful people who join together to enjoy each other and the mountains and the sport they love.
