The travel

We have offered many float trips over the years and have done every major river in the Southwest. We have loved them all. But the grand daddy of them all, the Grand Canyon, has eluded us so far. It used to be prohibitively expensive and reservations were hard to come by for groups. But the recent downturn in things economic has created the window we have been waiting for for years. We are going for it. We are going in, all or nothing. This is our year to do this once-in-a-lifetime river trip. We are excited beyond words and are hopeful we can find 12 like-minded dreamers who want to join us. The best time to do this journey is either May or September/ early October. The canyon gets very hot in summer. May should be perfect.

Logisitcs: Fly to Las Vegas morning of May 17. Pick up by outfitter, transport to put-in point, Marble Canyon, AZ. Overnight at lodge. May 18-25 on the river. EVERYTHING is included on this portion: all meals, camping gear (including tents). It is all taken care of. We will be using motorized rafts that have quiet 4 stoke motors. There are many sections where the motors will not be used. Generally, we prefer oar trips, but to do the entire length of the Grand Canyon by oar would take 3 weeks, which is too long for most people. So, we are making an exception for the sake of expediency. Also, the motorized rafts will afford more time for day hikes along the way. On May 25, we end up in Las Vegas airport in the late afternoon. You can choose to stay an extra night or two or you can get showered up at an airport gym for a small fee and jump on a plane home that evening.

What is included: *The base air to Las Vegas. A set amount has been allocated for this in the trip price. If your air fare is over this amount, your trip cost will increase by this amount. *Transport to Marble Canyon, AZ for pre-float lodging night. *Double occupancy Marble Canyon Lodge first night (single occ. Add $49).

*The rafting portion of the journey in the canyon. Everything included: guides, meals, gear, fun! *Transport back to Las Vegas end of trip.

What is NOT included: Air taxes of @$25 tba at final, river park fee of @$12 tba at final.

Roommate note

Many single people want double occupancy but are signing up solo for the tour. We will attempt to assign you a same-sex room mate who is in the same situation, at your request.While we will do our best to match you with a room mate, it must be understood that anyone signing up as a single is responsible for the single supplement unless a room mate is found. All cancellation charges and other provisions of the booking agreement would still apply.

If number of participants falls below 10, there MAY be an added charge of $ 0.00 per person per tour. This is not anticipated but it is a condition of the tour.

Cancellation penalty policy

You can cancel a reservation for a tour anytime before a tour starts. Following penalties will be withdrawn:
